Why We Do What We Do.
Why Sentinel Disaster Response? Disasters, natural or man-made, are common and getting more so with each passing year. They strike with dangers so grave and damage so great in scale that countless lives are forever changed, many are lost, and the wake of destruction is overwhelming.
The unfortunate truth is that from pre-planning to demobilization, there are gaps in disaster response. Front-line first responders, medical professionals, and volunteers do everything in their power to react effectively. Regrettably, incidents at this scale can easily overpower local and regional capabilities. Federal aid, while robust, takes a long time to mobilize. And real people find themselves in those gaps, losing hope.
Those behind Sentinel Disaster Response have decades of real-world, hands-on experience. We heard the terrified screams and ran to their aid. We have gone where others dared not and returned with a life saved. We have held the hands and bore witness to the final moments of those who could not be saved. We have recovered the bodies of lost loved ones and returned them with dignity to their families. We have provided the calm reassurance others need in their moments of fear and doubt. We have held the light for those lost in the dark to find.
The reason Sentinel Disaster Response was created was simply, to serve. To use the experience, expertise, and willingness to act that we have developed over the many long years of our service and give it freely to those in need. To improve preparedness, reduce reaction time, close as many of the gaps in the system as possible, and serve the safety and protection of all who need us.
Sentinel Disaster Response Inc. is a response imperative. We hope that our team members, our symbols and uniforms, our service vehicles and equipment will come to be seen as beacons of hope and reassurance.
Terrifying events such as wildfires, hurricane, and floods put people in devastating situations. It is our mission to help them with disaster preparedness and to assist in post-disaster relief.
Why Sentinel Disaster Response? Because we don’t want one more scared cry for help to go unanswered. When hope is all that is left, we want to be there when someone asks, “Who will come for us?” to say, “Here we are. We have come for you”.
Respectfully,
Sentinel Disaster Response

How We’ll Accomplish The Mission.
Sentinel Disaster Response hereby decrees and declares our mission to improve disaster preparedness, response, and recovery in every capacity we are able via our Six Pillars of the Sentinel Disaster Response Mission:
Pre-Plan – To help individuals and communities forecast dangers, identify risk reduction efforts, outline response priorities, prepare lists of needed supplies & equipment, and devise steps to take when disaster strikes.
Prepare – To provide education, training, and resources to improve awareness and readiness. To acquire equipment, supplies, and resources necessary to support individual and community disaster pre-plans and recovery efforts.
Prevent – To harden and reinforce buildings and landscapes to minimize risk and damage. To assist individuals and communities to cooperate in taking decisive actions intended to reduce injuries and loss of life.
Respond – To move into harm’s way in the days leading to forecasted disaster, or the moments after unforeseen events, so that we are within striking distance of the impact area. To reduce the reaction gaps in disaster response.
Rescue – To assist agencies engaged in rescue operations through seamless National Incident Management System and Incident Command System integration. To bolster local efforts and reduce service gaps wherever possible.
Recover – To give aid and comfort to those impacted by disaster. To assist with short to mid-term shelter and provide vital supplies such as food, water, and clothing. To educate and inform individuals about the restoration process.
To accomplish this mission, we pledge to maintain ourselves, our equipment, and our supplies at the highest level of readiness. As a whole, or individually, we vow to fulfill our mission to the best of our ability. When we are called upon, we will be ready, willing, and able to succeed in our mission.
Respectfully,

“Please give”. How many times and in how many ways could you be implored by that sentiment? There are countless worthy causes, each with their merit. Today, I have the honor of introducing you to Sentinel Disaster Response Inc. SDR is a 501(c)(3) organization. Its mission focus is disaster preparation, response, and recovery.
You might wonder why Sentinel Disaster Response needs to exist knowing that other mechanisms are active such as FEMA. Unfortunately, the answer is simple. There are gaps in disaster response. The scale of incidents can easily overpower local and regional capabilities. Federal aid, while powerful, can take too long to mobilize. During a disaster, trust me when I say that the scale of need is so great that Sentinel Disaster Response Inc. is a response imperative.
In the fire service, when we help neighboring agencies or request resources from them, it is called “mutual aid”. When an emergency overwhelms staffing, equipment capabilities, or skills we ask for help, we call in mutual aid. This is how SDR views our supporters. You can be our Mutual Aid partner in several ways.
Monetary Aid.
One of our Core Values is Integrity which includes transparency. Each year we will release our numbers so that Mutual Aid partners such as yourself can see exactly how your hard-earned and generous donation is used. With an operation such as ours, every penny truly counts. Any amount you give will be gratefully received and carefully put to good use.
Equipment and Supplies Aid.
Doubtless, one of the greatest challenges, before deployment to disaster areas, will be amassing the equipment packages needed to perform our vital work as safely and effectively as possible. Supplies, both for our initial responses and for providing to those negatively impacted, will be vast in quantity and variety. If you or your company can help equip and supply our efforts, your in-kind donations will directly serve thousands of endangered people every year.
Skills and Services Aid.
While no one knows it all or can do it all alone, one person can make a remarkable difference. If you have a skillset or a service that you think would benefit our efforts to serve others during disasters, please offer it. You might be the multiplier that exponentially increases our effect.
When someone cries for help, seconds count, that help cannot be hours away. It is our mission to plan for, prevent when possible, and prepare for disasters. When they strike, and they will, we will be there. Responding alongside emergency services. Providing rescue professionals as needed. Supporting, equipping, and supplying the rescue, transportation, sheltering, and recovery efforts. Today, I am humbly asking that you consider providing Mutual Aid to Sentinel Disaster Services Inc.
Most humbly and respectfully,
William M. Broullon

Your contributions will be gratefully accepted, and carefully utilized to fund our missions. Thank you.
